The kids are back to school …
The days are getting shorter …
Football widows are re-uniting …
Mornings are cooler …
Apples are ready for pickin’ …
Pumpkins are almost ripe on the vine …
Scarecrows have awakened from their tri-season slumber …
Yes, Fall is in the air!
September – October – November … hands down my three favorite months of the year.
I love to decorate for Fall even more than I do for Christmas (probably because I’m too pooped to start over after I’ve taken all the Fall stuff down.)
I thought it would be fun to take a trip through the world wide web in search of some fabulous Fall porches and porch decor.
Gather your pumpkins, hay bales, corn husks, mums, scarecrows, wreaths, garland, and lights and lets find some fun ways to use them!
Sources are listed below each picture.
How about you?
Have you started decorating for Fall?
I’d love to see your pictures. Email them to me (lani at simplyfreshvintage dot com) or link to your blogpost in the comments.

These are gorgeous. I don’t usually do a lot of fall decorating, even though it is my favorite time of year. But now that I’ve seen all these ideas, I am definitely inspired!
OH i love this! I love the wheelbarrow with the pumpkins. I always want to decorate at fall but well it gets away from me. The best i do is Christmas and the lights and even then not what I want. I can just live through your pics and pretend they are mine..lol !
I don’t usually do a lot of fall decorating but those pictures are sure inspiring! I might have to start this year!
It is still in the 90’s here in central Texas but it is fall to us and I am inspired to get my porch decked out! Thank you for taking the time to share all those beautiful photos!
I really have been wanting to decorate for Fall. It’s still over 100 degree weather over here in AZ. But, I love your fall porch ideas. Fall is my favorite time of year next to Spring! Thank you for following me on Pinterest. I subscribed to you!
I don’t have porch, just a couple of steps. These are, however, great ideas, and it was so nice of you to do all the work and round them up for your readers. Saves us time and effort. I think my favorite is Stone Gable. Thanks for sharing.
How inspiring! There’s something for small porches and large alike! We have two scarecrows my girls made at a Fall Festival last year still on our porch. I even put Santa hats on them in the winter! They were too cute to pack up!
Now, I want to get my sweaters out!
These are such beautiful ideas. I LOVE the pumpkins in the wheel barrow. I am making a fall wreath soon for my fall project.
O man seriously did you just post all those gorgeous pictures? Now I think I should go redecorate my porch :/
Beautiful pictures – now if I could just motivate and get decorating!!
I love decorating for fall – your inspiration boards are terrific. We just got a dip in tempertaure over here, so it’s starting to feel fall-ish. yay!
Wow, those are so pretty. I wish I had more time to be crafty like that! My daughter and my birthday are in October, so we don’t set up the fall/Halloween decor until after, and that doesn’t give us much time to enjoy it or do a whole lot!
In SW Louisiana, it is still 90+ degrees outside. We are often in skimpy costume for halloween, because it’s too darn hot to wear anything else! But I’m already decking the INside of my house in browns and oranges, trying to pretend it’s fall!! And dreaming of the day I can wear cool boots again.
I love fall with harvest and all the great colors. I will have to get my fall items out and see what new things I need to buy. Doesn’t they make your feel restful?
I love all of these. I wish my front porch was big enough to have some wooden rockers. I haven’t started decorating for fall just yet but this post gave me tons of inspiration. Btw I love your blog design. It’s totally fitting for your blog!!!
What awesome ideas! All I can say is definitely going on pinterest! Thanks for sharing!
Love your compilation of fall decor! I have gotten my wreath up and a centerpiece out…that is it besides working on these fun pumpkins I posted last week as a project:

What great ideas for fall decorating. When I lived in Wisconsin, we always decorated for the fall. But since retiring in Florida three years ago we have not followed our tradition. Your post motivated me to “get up” and “get moving” and welcome fall into our home. Thank you for sharing.
OOHHH I love these! I have a tiny porch but the rocking chair with the quilt looks like it may work for mine. THanks so much for sharing these.
Lani,
I love your photos. They are the perfect inspiration for my upcoming trip to the pumpkin market. Best wishes for a fun fall.

Dee,
Thanks for posting these images. They are inspirational and great inspiration for my upcoming trip to the pumpkin market. I especially love the welcome pumpkins!!!!
Happy Fall.
Cheers to apple cider and football nights!
I am with you . I love September, October and November even more so than December and the holidays. I just this past weekend took down all of my summer decorations in preparation for getting my fall things up in the next week or two. I leave them up right through Thanksgiving.
There are some great inspirational ideas in these pictures. Thanks for sharing.
I do love the ‘ber months! They are my favorites too!! I look at those porch ideas and I think I’ve got to get to sprucing my porch!! 🙂
What lovely porches and what a great idea to put them all together. Since I have zero ability when it comes to decorating these are quite inspirational. I’m a summer person myself and don’t usually look forward to fall and the coming winter, but these porches would certainly make it a lot more appealing.
Great fall decorations! Makes me want a better porch (or to learn to love the probably great one I have). I will start to decorate in early October, don’t want to rush these last days of “summer”!
Ah you make Fall, or Autumn as we say over here in the UK, look so magical! Autumn for us isn’t as colourful and bright, it tends to rain a lot and the clouds just turn grey. But I’m hoping to bring some Fall festivities back to life this season, so thanks for the inspiration 🙂

I LOVE all the fall pictures. Doesn’t it give you such a good feeling? It’s funny what you said about football widows. This is the first year I’ve a football mom. It’s a different perspective!

Love the pictures and inspiration. I have a porch too. I don’t usually decorate until October because it still is SUMMER (lol) here is California. By October it feels more like FALL. I love fall colors but I think I have more fun decorating for Christmas, lol!
I love anything pumpkins so much that I have them ( the decerative ones) in my kitchen all year. I try to buy one every year to add to my collection. Fall is also my favorite time of year, I start to plan out my thanksgiving dinner and christmas dinners.
I love Fall too! I was just in Lowe’s last night (buying curtains for our monster windows in the livingroom of the new house) and saw some holiday wreaths. It inspired me to make my own..now to find time to get to the craft store! Love your photos!
Hi Dee,
How fun to be decorating your new house! We just moved into ours a year ago and I have yet to put anything on our windows except blinds. One of these days … 🙂
Hugs & Blessings …

These are all gorgeous! The weather here is still screaming summer, so I’ll probably wait a couple more weeks to start decorating. Thanks for the inspiration to get started!
It’s still summery here too, Mary, although the mornings are a bit cooler, so I know Fall is close at hand! I can’t wait!

I love porches! Our current house has a stoop but we are moving in a few months so top on my list is a porch! These are great ideas and lovely pictures. PS I love Fall too…it’s what follows that has me bummed.
These are gorgeous!! I am in love with every single one, and I am totally sad that i don’t have a front porch to decorate!!
I love fall! The colors, sounds and smalls are wonderful! These are some great decorating ideas! I wish I had a cozy front porch to decorate!
I love the fall decorations. For the first time ever I decorated my porch this summer and will wrapping it up as soon as my flowers die and my pumpkins come in. They are so homey – definitely a look I want at my house. I think I’m going to try painting my pumpkins with glitter or maybe even a color to match or compliment my outside decor.
I love these decorating ideas! They all look so festive and fun. Unfortunately I live on the top floor of an apartment building so decorations would be pretty useless for me but these are some great ideas for the future! Love that you made it the opening graphic in to a pin!
Gorgeous and so inspiring. I can’t wait until it cools off a bit. Well, a lot actually. It’s sweltering heat in Kentucky, but hopefully soon it will actually feel like fall and I can begin! This will provide some fantastic ideas and great color palettes.

I love these! My new porch is exposed to tons of rain so I’m not sure how I’m going to decorate this fall.
Beautiful blog and beautiful post! Fall is absolutely my favorite time of year, but I didn’t get to experience true fall until we moved to Germany. It was breathtaking. I love jacket and cardigan weather and all the colors. In Texas, we just go straight from summer to winter, so decorating to get in the spirit is a great idea!
Hi Lani -I’m Laney! Not too many of us around…I love all your photos and decorating-and will confess I don’t start decorating until the leaves have started to change. In a few weeks I’ll get going…
These are so cute! I love the wagon and baskets. I can’t wait to add some fall to my porch!
Wow! Gorgeous ideas. I love the fall too, I always think of that poem by Robert Frost, Nature’s first green is gold… The colors, the crispness in the air, I just wish I had the energy to put up more decorations. I haven’t started finding my few, but now I might need to go get some more because you have me feeling festive!
I have never decorated for the different seasons, but I have always been in awe of those who did. The images you provided were absolutely beautiful. I noticed you didn’t submit your front door and porch. Are you decorated yet?
Jae Mac @ I’m Just Sayin’…(Damn!)
In my dreams I would decorate my porch like one of these, but since we just moved a month ago and I don’t even have pictures up on the walls yet, I might just have to settle for a few pumpkins on the porch! But I do love the rocking chairs too…maybe next year! 🙂
Oooh I love fall, too- however, in Texas, it will still be a while before we get that cool, crisp air! Those porches are beautiful; I especially love the first one! I don’t have a post dedicated to fall decor, but I do show a little of it here: http://www.eatprayreadlove.com/2012/09/dresser-do-over-i-got-my-teal.html.
Also, I’d love for you to link up any of your older posts that you love this Friday on my blog for a new linkup- Flashback Friday!
Have a great day!
Autumn is my favorite season. I miss it so much. I can not get into the spirit and decorate here in the south it is still sooooo hot.
What a lovely round-up of fall decor! Since we have our house in storage and we’re living in limbo, I have no idea about fall decor. I guess I’ll be enjoying yours instead. 😉 That being said….I’m walking the fall fence…with warm weather I’m just not ready. And I’m actually working on some coastal posts that I photographed before the ‘move.’ It’s surely warm enough for a day at the beach. 😉
Hope your week is Extraordinary!!
Beautiful porches!! Thanks for the round-up. I haven’t started decorating, but I plan to this weekend. I can’t wait!!
Beautiful porches – I’m looking forward to doing some fall decorating, but it’s still 90+ here in Alabama, so I’m waiting for Oct. 1st when it finally cools down. I think pumpkins would melt out there…
