It’s been a fun six weeks getting to know our Summer Fun guest posters.
To wrap it all up I thought I’d do a mini-review by re-introducing our guest bloggers and picking one of my favorite posts from each of their blogs.
Heather from Setting For Four is an interior decor student and military wife with a passion for family friendly design that won’t break the bank or sacrifice style! She is a mom of two teenagers and married to her best friend, an Infantryman, whom she is so proud of! She loves to create things by hand, cook healthy meals and most of all create a comfy and cozy space for her family of four.
Heather started blogging on December 31’st 2010. You can read this post for Hometalk “In the Bloglight” to learn the real nitty gritty of how and why she started blogging.
MY FAV POST: “4 Tips to Enhance Your Front Entry … Outdoor Seating and Decor.”
A few splashes of color, some light for a pretty evening glow, comfy chairs and pillows and voila! Your porch is now an inviting spot to enjoy the evening and visit with the neighbors.
Gwen from The Bold Abode is wild and passionate about stepping out of her comfort zone and going BOLD! No, not just in her decorating, though we do see a lot of that on her blog, but being bold with life in general … “not being a slave to our fears and doubts and past, but rising up against the noise, create a revolution in our hearts and minds and tell ourselves that we CAN.” She’s wife to her awesome husband Morgan, and mom to two adorable boys. Gwen shares more about being bold and about her family on her “This Bold Girl” page.
One of the really cool things that I found out when we started this series is that Gwen and I are practically neighbors! We literally live about 20 minutes apart from each other. In a rural area where everything is 15 minutes away, 20 minutes is like right around the corner! We haven’t had a chance to meet in person yet, but I’m hoping we can change that real soon!
MY FAV POST: “Pallet Porch Swing”
When we were looking for our home one of the things that was at the top of my list was a porch to put a swing on. There’s just something so romantic and southern about having a front porch swing, isn’t there?
I love how Gwen made her adorable swing from pallet boards!
Nancy is a mother of two (one adult child and one high school student) and wife to one fabulous guy. She writes a blog called Artsy Chicks Rule about her love of DIY, design & decor on a budget, re-inventing thrifty finds, making signs & graphics and just a little bit of everything else. Her motto is Re.store, Re.style and Re.love. You can read more about Nancy here.
MY FAV POST: “Wall Art Coat Rack”
I am totally into quick, easy, inexpensive projects and this one fits the bill! A piece of wood, a couple of stencils, a few hooks, some paint and your good to go!
Mary Beth is a wife, a mom to 3 boys and she loves all things related to making a home. Her blog is where homemaking, {wanna be} glamour and reality collide. She loves pink, homemaking, baking, cooking, cleaning, cars, airplanes, gardening, fashion and good coffee. But more than anything, she loves Jesus.
FAV POST: Chalkboard Coffee Table
Chalkboard is all the rage these days and I love how Mary Beth incorporated it into her coffee table re-do. What a fun way to spice up the living space!
Jane loves to cook … and she loves food. She’s trained as a chef and then went back to school to get her teaching credential. You can read more about her here.
FAV POST: Strawberry Granola Handpies
It’s all about strawberries this month, and Jane has posted the directions for making these scrumptious Strawberry Granola Handpies. I’m definitely going to have to try my hand at these!
Thank you so much to all of these ladies for taking the time to share a piece of their lives with us. It’s been fun getting to know all of them!
