According to the calendar, the date is March 25 …
not March 2, not March 5,
March 25 …
seven days before the first of April …
six days before Easter.
March.
25.
When I should be seeing this …
and this …
and when I should be doing this …
instead I’m enjoying this …
Enjoying?
Really?
Yes. Enjoying … loving, actually!
This was one of the reasons I was so excited to move here.
You see, in Central California, the only white stuff that fell was the petals of the fruitless pear trees, and maybe a blink of a hail storm. But snow? Gracious no!
This morning when I came downstairs and opened all the blinds, this is the beauty that awaited me … lots and lots of foggy whiteness. Gorgeous!
After I warmed up with a couple cups of coffee and after the fog cleared, I bundled up and went outside to get a closer look.
I hope you enjoy this little Spring/Winter Wonderland with me.
So even though this California girl is longing for daffodils, tulips, prim roses, and the like, God has chosen to bless me with a different kind of beauty …
“He spreads snow like a white fleece …”

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful snow with us! I love how quiet the world becomes when it snows. Things slow down a bit. I enjoyed your pictorial walk of your wonderland!
Hi Laurie,
I agree! There is such a sweet stillness when the snow falls. I could sit and watch it for hours 🙂
Have a great day!

Hi Lani,
Your photos are beautiful! There is nothing like freshly fallen snow.
We still have snow here in New Hampshire too! We are supposed to have warmer weather coming in the next week though, so I am guessing the snow will melt pretty fast.
Happy Spring,
Suzanne
Pieced Pastimes
Hi Suzanne,
The snow here is almost non-existent now, except for those few places that are completely shaded … like the lower half of my back porch. I was outside for a bit this morning and could definitely feel the warmth from the sun. We’re supposed to be in the 60’s this weekend. Looking forward to days when I won’t have to wear a turtleneck 🙂

Hi Lani,
I love all the white snow! Doesn’t it feel so clean and fresh? Enjoy it while you can. Before you know it, your flowers will start popping up through the snow.
Hugs,
Darla
Hi Darla!
It does feel clean and fresh … and very, very cold! It does melt pretty quick here, though.
Hugs back!

Finally…F.I.N.A.L.L.Y…a blogger that is not rattling on and on about how he/she is SO TIRED of the winter season. It is so refreshing to read a post, and enjoy the photos of someone who truly appreciates the weather that is happening now. I, too, agree that winter’s beauty is hard to beat. Looks like your streets stayed clear, but perhaps icy? A day of heavy fog can produce some of the most outstanding beauty ever seen with human eyes. Enjoy.
Hi Linda,
Awwww … thank you 🙂 I never, ever, ever tire of the snow. I love it! Maybe I’d feel a little differently if we were buried in feet of it, but here it melts as soon as the sun comes out. Streets started getting pretty coated in the afternoon, but once the skies cleared, they turned to slush. This morning we were pretty icy … good thing we have 2-hour delays for school!
I’m glad you enjoyed the post 🙂
Hugs & Blessings ..

I seriously felt a chill while viewing your beautiful pictures of the foggy winter wonderland around you. Maybe I should get off the computer and throw another piece of wood in the stove…. again. It made me smile to see the pictures of what will be your gardens and the trellis! I know you will have more pics for us as spring and summer come. And the scripture quotes you finish your posts with are always sew suitable! Thanks Lani, for sharing!
Hi Lorna!
It was pretty cold … still is 🙂 Fortunately the sun is supposed to come out and start warming things up in the next couple of days. We’re forecasted to be in teh 60s for Easter Sunday! Whoo hoo! The night temps will be warming up too. Maybe by next week all signs of frost will be gone and I can start getting my veggies in the ground.
Hugs & Blessings …
