I’ve teamed up with five amazing bloggers for some summer guest post fun! Each week you’ll get to meet up close and personal an awesome blogger. Today I’m guest posting for Mary Beth at Cupcakes & Crinoline.
Last week it was a delight to introduce you to Heather from Setting for Four.
This week I am honored to have
Gwen from The Bold Abode!

Hi, Dear Bold Ones of Simply Fresh Vintage!
My name is Gwen and I am the author of The Bold Abode, where I share stuff I build and things I sew and even Gluten Free munchies…
Lani is so sweet to allow me to share some of my projects with you, and I am just thrilled to be here! From the first moment I “met” Lani, with her incredible Sunnyside Manor and her love of Vintage Cloths, I knew she was someone very, very special!
I love living in color, and as you can see from my Home Sweet Home Tour that is under way, I totally put that into practice!
We’ve been in this house for four years, and it is slowly becoming ours.
My very favorite project is a recent one… I took our builder boring staircase and turned it into something Bold!
Using removable wallpaper from Spoonflower, I made a fun and funky staircase that really is one of a kind. Would you ever consider putting wallpaper on your stair risers?
Last year, I also put together a little Pallet Project. I had my eyes on this Nantucket Porch Swing, but with a price tag of over $800, I knew that was an unrealistic dream!
So, when I found some pallets made of quality wood, I knew I just had to try my hand at building a porch swing inspired by my dream one.
It was a labor of love and, so far, it’s held up!
As you can see, I love color. In fact, my love of color is what inspired my blog name.
As the home decor trend moved to a more neutral palette, I realized that I was not going to be following along. When I started blogging, I knew that my home would be filled with color and that I couldn’t hide it. I just had to be bold about it… and thus, The Bold Abode was born!
If you are not comfortable using color, pop over and check out 9 ways you can add color to your home!
You can add it gradually and subtlety but using color is fun! I encourage you to play with it… to try it out!
And if you are in the neighborhood, I love to connect with you on Pinterest or Google+!
You can also find me hanging out at my other sites from The Bubble Gallery! I invite you to check out the stream of creative ideas and submit your own projects, recipes and printables. It’s new and I would just love to have you in the stream!
Thank you so much for having me, Lani! Your home and your style are an intoxicating breath of fresh air!
